Yen is seeking an intern in its administrative support team to assist the executive office with scheduling, data entries, and research. We are looking for an individual with the ability to multitask while maintaining complex schedules and managing administrative support, is essential in this position. The ideal candidate for this job is detail-oriented, organized and able to work effectively with little to no supervision. A willingness to learn and adapt to using various new software is key to success in this position.

This internship requires a minimum of 15-20 hours a week. Interns may be able to work remotely on
some occasions.

Responsibilities :

Conducts research to find responses to questions and requests for information by the senior managing fellow and other senior staff

Assist the executive office in the hiring process by scheduling interviews and preparing materials for new hire orientation

Generate memos, emails and reports when appropriate

Draft posts for social media and other digital platforms

Copy edit publications, blog posts and website contents

Prepare PowerPoint presentations

Maintenance resource contact list
-
Answer incoming calls and external emails
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint

Detail-oriented and comfortable working in varying work environments

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Superior organization skills and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner

Some knowledge in web design is prefered but not required

Interested in socio-political and economic development in African countries

Yen is seeking an intern in Governance and Development Program to assist in policy research for the 2020 Ghanian Elections. Yen’s Governance Program examines policies and how they affect human development. The Program also studies the effectiveness of public institutions, leadership and accountability within a democratic government. We are looking for an individual with the ability to multitask while maintaining close attention to detail. The ideal candidate has some research experience, is organized and able to work effectively with little to no supervision. A willingness to learn and adapt to using various new software is key to success in this position.
This is an unpaid internship.
